Ron Wiener
CEO & Chief Mechanic

As founder, CEO, Chairman and "Chief Mechanic" of the Bellevue-headquartered Venture Mechanics Startup Launchpad, Ron brings four decades of experience as a tech startup CEO and 25 years as an investor. This is his fourth incubator operation during those 25 years.

Venture Mechanics is a startup incubator, event space and conference center, and coworking facility for rapidly-scaling startups. It is Seattle's largest hub not just for the hundreds of events for startup founders and early stage investors held there, but also domiciles numerous diversity "founder & funder groups" and the venture studios of a number of emerging VC fund managers.

For the prior decade Ron was CEO of ThermoGenesis Group. which operated multiple business units within the office fitness industry, but was best known for its iMovR brand of standing desks, treadmill desks and other office ergonomics products. iMovR was the leading technology innovator in the office furniture industry, with over 50,000 customers and six patents. The iMovR brand was acquired by PFHN Ventures in June, 2023.

Prior to Thermogenesis, Ron served as Chairman and CEO of EquaShip, a direct competitor to FedEx and UPS focusing on small to medium-sized online retailers. Previously he served as CEO and Postmaster General of Earth Class Mail Corporation from founding in 2004 through May, 2009, and served as Chairman through Feb, 2010. Prior to that Ron was founder and CEO of four other investor-backed high-technology companies; two in aviation, two in dot-com: Azure Technology, Distribution Sciences Corp / JetStream, PrintBid, and SnapNames.com.

In 2007 Earth Class Mail was honored to be the sole subject of the first season of the first TV documentary series of its kind, "Start-up Junkies," about people like me who apparently can't do anything but start-ups and stay sane.
