I specialize in working with engineers in executive roles to help them overcome their leadership challenges. I work with executives 1:1, executive leadership teams in a group setting, and with Boards of Directors. My goal is for my clients to become better leaders today than they were yesterday.
I am an executive coach, strategic business advisor and veteran with 20+ years of experience in leadership, operations, engineering management, and program management.
I started my career in the US Navy as a Naval Flight Officer, Aerospace Engineer, and Program Manager. Four transferable skills forged in the Navy that continue to serve me well are:
Leadership: US Naval Academy graduate, former naval officer, and effective leader. Leadership experience ranges from small engineering teams and medium-sized programs to entire sites.
Management: Skilled at managing resources. Works well with people, knows how to get things done, solves the right problems, and inspires collaboration.
Teamwork: Experienced in building teams from and working with people from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and areas of expertise. I bring cross-functional teams together to achieve common goals and objectives.
Coaching: Throughout my career, I had the fortune of being coached and being a coach. My coaching skills were refined and developed long before the explosive growth of the coaching profession. I've coached engineers, program managers, first-level managers, executives, and individual contributors.
In the Navy, I had a wide range of experiences including carrier-based aviation, developmental flight testing, technical program management, and launching satellites into orbit. Since leaving the Navy, I’ve served in executive leadership roles with progressively increasing responsibility in operations, engineering, and executive management. As an executive coach, I've worked with CEOs and executive teams to build foundations for scale through leadership, organizational development, and process improvement.
